Step 2: Correct the mistake
--I should have written: "Why do women cry in public?"

Step 3: Explain the correction
--When asking a question, the word 'do' or 'does' often has to follow the word "why" for the sentence to be correct. I say, "Why do women cry?" because 'women' is plural; I could have written, "Why does a woman feel comfortable crying in public?" which uses 'does' because 'woman' is singular.
